USB 2.0 Active Printer Cable 30FT

This 30-foot USB 2.0 Type A to Type B cable connects a PC to printers, scanners, printer switch hubs, or KVM switches equipped with a square USB B port. The active design supports reliable operation over the full 10-metre length where standard passive cables would fail. It is built for office and home users who need to place peripherals far from the host computer without signal degradation.

Sustained transfer at 480 Mbps over 10 metres

The integrated booster maintains USB 2.0 High Speed rates up to 480 Mbps across the entire 30-foot run, preventing the drop-off typical of long passive cords. Backward compatibility with USB 1.1 and 1.0 devices ensures older peripherals still function. The 28AWG conductors, aluminium braid shielding, and gold-plated connectors resist noise and signal loss during continuous print or scan jobs.

USB 2.0 Type B interface only

This cable terminates in a USB 2.0 Type B plug, not a USB 3.0 Type B connector, so it will not fit the blue SuperSpeed ports found on newer devices. Buyers whose equipment requires a USB 3.0 Type B connection must select a different cable. No drivers are needed; the cord works immediately on supported hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the 30 ft active cable draw enough power from a USB 2.0 port to run all day without overheating?

The built-in booster runs on the standard 5 V bus power of USB 2.0, so no extra adapter is needed and heat stays low during continuous use.

What ports must my computer and printer already have for this cable to work?

Your PC needs a USB Type A port and your printer needs a square USB Type B port; the cable is male-to-male for both ends.

Will the 480 Mbps USB 2.0 link slow down an older 1.1 scanner I still use?

The cable is backward compatible with USB 1.1 and 1.0 devices, so the older scanner will run at its native speed without errors.
