12U Soundproof Server Rack

The APC AR4012A is a 12U NetShelter enclosure with integrated soundproof insulation that reduces equipment noise to background levels. It ships in a maple finish and fits standard 19-inch rack-mount hardware. Thermostat-controlled fans cool up to 1.2kW of IT load while saving air-conditioning energy. A built-in power block provides four 5-15 outlets for fans and gear.

Suited for quiet offices and edge sites

This rack serves workplaces that need server-class gear without a dedicated server room. The locking front, rear and side doors secure equipment while allowing access. Brush strip passthroughs and gasketed bottom cable entry keep airflow clear and cords organised. Casters and levelling feet enable quick placement and mobility. Buyers needing higher rack-unit density or active cooling beyond 1.2kW should consider other solutions.

Static load rating of 840 kg

The enclosure supports 1851.9 lbs (840 kg) static weight capacity, allowing heavy servers to remain stable even when the unit is moved on its casters. Dimensions are 30.9 x 29.5 x 44.5 inches and the unit weighs 251.3 lbs. The basic PDU accepts 100-230 V input at 50/60 Hz and offers four IEC 60320 C13 output connections. Verify that your equipment weight and power draw stay within these limits.

Questions about this item

How do I install the AR4012A rack and what step is often missed?

Roll the 251.3 lbs unit on its casters into position, then lower the leveling feet to take weight off the wheels; skipping this leaves the rack mobile and unstable.

What maintenance will the soundproof rack need later?

Clean dust from the thermostat-controlled fan intakes and check the gasketed bottom cable entry seals periodically to maintain the 1.2 kW cooling capacity and noise reduction.

What limit appears first under sustained load in this 12U enclosure?

The thermostat-controlled fans are rated to cool 1.2 kW; exceeding that thermal limit will trigger temperature rise before the 840 kg static weight capacity is reached.
