Tower UPS with 10 NEMA outlets

The APC Back-UPS Pro BR1500G is a tower-form uninterruptible power supply rated at 1500 VA and 865 W. It provides 120 V output through ten NEMA 5-15R receptacles, five of which deliver battery backup and five surge-only protection. Automatic voltage regulation corrects minor fluctuations without switching to battery. A front-panel LCD shows runtime, load and battery status.

Desktop workstations and network gear needing

This unit suits desktop computers, routers, modems and NAS devices that must ride through short outages and brownouts. The user-replaceable lead-acid cartridge (APCRBC124) is hot-swappable, so service does not require powering down connected equipment. Builders who need longer runtime at full load or rack-mountable form factor should consider other solutions.

Sustained load performance and recharge cycle

At half load the battery delivers approximately 12.8 minutes of runtime; at full load it provides about 3.8 minutes. After a discharge the sealed lead-acid pack requires roughly eight hours to reach full charge. Audible alarms signal on-battery, low-battery and overload conditions, while included management software enables automated shutdown and logging.

Questions about this item

What input plug must my wall outlet accept for the BR1500G to connect?

The unit ships with a NEMA 5-15P input plug, so a standard 120 V North American wall receptacle is required.

Will the five battery-backup outlets on this UPS keep my older router and modem running during an outage?

Yes, the five NEMA 5-15R battery-backup outlets deliver 120 V at 50/60 Hz, so legacy networking gear that draws within the 865 W limit will stay powered.

How can I confirm the BR1500G is supplying battery power after I plug everything in?

Pull the input plug; the LCD will show "On Battery" and the distinctive low-battery alarm will sound, proving the inverter has taken over the load.
