Provides 1.0 kVA / 700 W battery backup with six IEC outlets, LCD interface and USB, serial plus SmartSlot connectivity
The APC Smart-UPS SMT1000RMI2UC delivers 1.0 kVA and 700 Watts of battery-backed power in a 2U rack-mount form factor. It accepts an input range of 160 to 286V with an adjustable window of 151 to 302V at 50 or 60 Hz. Six IEC outlets supply 230V output to connected servers, networking gear or storage arrays.
This model replaces smaller tower or 1U backups that cannot sustain a full rack load during an outage. The jump is worth it when you need 8.7 minutes at 700 W or 31.3 minutes at half load to ride through short interruptions or trigger graceful shutdowns. A three-hour recharge restores full capacity for the next event.
At maximum draw the unit runs for 8.7 minutes, giving enough headroom for orderly power-down scripts. At lighter loads the 31.3-minute window covers most brief utility faults. It is not suited for workloads that demand hours of autonomy or for installations requiring higher VA ratings than 1.0 kVA.
Measured against everything we stock in Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

The 2U unit mounts in a standard rack; allow enough rear depth for the IEC-320 C14 inlet and the six IEC outlets (four C13 plus two jumpers) plus cable bend radius.
Connect the IEC-320 C14 input to a 230V supply, then use the front LCD navigation keys to confirm output voltage is 230V and frequency auto-sensing is enabled before attaching loads to the six battery-backup outlets.
Expect roughly three to five years; when a full-load runtime drops well below the rated 8.7 minutes or a half-load runtime falls far short of 31.3 minutes, plan a battery swap.
