The APC SURTD5000RMXLP3U is a double-conversion on-line UPS rated at 5000 VA and 4000 W. It accepts a 208 V input and delivers both 120 V and 208 V output for mixed-voltage loads. The unit mounts in a standard 3U rack space and includes a SmartSlot for optional management cards. It suits server rooms and network closets that require continuous power conditioning.

Runtime at half and full load

At a 2000 W half load the battery provides 15.1 minutes of backup; at the full 4000 W load runtime drops to 4.8 minutes. Recharge takes 2.5 hours after a discharge event. The sealed lead-acid battery is user-replaceable using the RBC44 cartridge. Buyers needing more than five minutes at full load or longer half-load runtime should consider external battery packs or a higher-capacity model.

Outlets surge and management limits

Six outlets are provided: four NEMA 5-20R, one NEMA L14-30R and one NEMA L6-30R. Surge protection is rated at 365 joules. The SmartSlot interface supports an optional network management card for remote monitoring. The unit carries CSA, FCC Part 15 Class A and UL 1778 approvals. Installations requiring more outlet count, higher surge rating or different receptacle types will need additional power distribution units.
