Second-generation 9.7-inch tablet

The Apple A1395 iPad 2 ships new with a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display at 1024 x 768 resolution. It runs on an Apple A5 1 GHz dual-core system-on-a-chip with 512 MB DDR2 RAM and 16 GB flash memory. The tablet includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity for wireless use.

Passive cooling with ten-hour battery

The aluminium-and-glass enclosure dissipates heat silently without fans, so operation stays quiet during typical tasks. A 6666 mAh lithium-polymer battery delivers up to 10 hours of run time on a single charge. Power draws through the USB 2.0 interface for straightforward recharging.

Replaces first-generation 9.7-inch tablets

This unit upgrades the original iPad with a dual-core processor, front and rear cameras, and a thinner profile. The jump is worth it for buyers who need 720p video recording, FaceTime calls, or noticeably snappier app response. It does not suit users who require cellular data, higher storage capacity, or newer app compatibility.

Questions about this item

How do I install apps on the iPad 2 A1395 and what step do people miss?

Tap the App Store icon, sign in with an Apple ID, then download apps; the step often missed is accepting the Apple ID terms before the first download.

What maintenance will the 6666 mAh lithium-ion battery need later?

The built-in battery is not user-replaceable; when capacity drops, arrange a professional battery service.

At what point does the 512 MB DDR2 RAM limit multitasking during sustained use?

With only 512 MB DDR2 RAM, iOS will reload background apps when memory fills, causing visible delays when switching between several open apps.
