What this iPad 2 delivers

The Apple iPad 2 ships new with a 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS Multi-Touch display and 16GB of built-in storage. It runs iOS 4 on a 1 GHz dual-core Apple A5 processor paired with 1GB of system memory. The black finish and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity complete the core specification for everyday tablet use.

How it fits into your workflow

Weighing 1.32 pounds, the tablet adds minimal mass to a bag while the 16GB capacity stores apps, documents and offline media without relying on cloud sync. The single Wi-Fi radio handles network access so no cellular plan is required. A Lightning-to-USB cable and power adapter provide charging and data transfer to a host computer.

Sustained use behaviour

The A5 processor and passive thermal design maintain consistent performance during extended reading, video playback or light productivity sessions. The 1GB memory ceiling means heavy multitasking will trigger app reloads rather than smooth switching. Battery runtime scales with screen brightness and wireless activity, matching the original factory rating for mixed workloads.
