Apple iPad 4th Generation 16GB

The Apple iPad 4th Generation 16GB is a 9.7 inch tablet released in 2012 with a 2048 x 1536 resolution display. It runs on an Apple A6X 1.4 GHz processor and includes Bluetooth connectivity. This device suits users seeking a compact iOS tablet for basic apps and media consumption.

Sustained load behaviour

The Apple A6X 1.4 GHz processor handles everyday tasks such as web browsing and video playback steadily. Under heavier multitasking the 16GB storage and older architecture may limit the number of apps kept in memory. The 9.7 inch touchscreen remains responsive during extended sessions.

Setup checks

Verify that your workflow relies only on Wi-Fi because this model has no cellular capability. Confirm that 16GB capacity is sufficient for your apps and media since storage cannot be expanded. Ensure you accept a unit showing normal signs of use on the screen and scratches or dings on the casing.

Questions about this item

Does the A6X 1.4 GHz processor run hot or make noise during all-day use?

The A6X 1.4 GHz processor is passively cooled with no fan, so it runs silently; the aluminium back may become warm during sustained workloads but stays within normal operating limits.

Which charger and cable are needed to power the Lightning port on this model?

A premium aftermarket wall charger and USB-to-Lightning cable are included in the box, so no additional purchase is required.

Will a Lightning-to-USB-3 camera adapter work with the original Lightning connector on this 2012 iPad?

Yes, the Lightning port supports standard USB camera adapters for importing photos, though transfer speeds remain at USB 2.0 rates.
