9.7" Gold tablet with 128 GB storage

The Apple iPad 5 in Gold offers a 9.7 inch Retina display at 2048 x 1536 resolution and 128 GB of built-in storage. It runs on the A9 Bionic chip with a 64-bit architecture and 2 GB of RAM. This Wi-Fi only model suits students, casual users or anyone needing a lightweight iOS device for browsing, media and productivity apps.

Passive cooling with all-day battery

The tablet uses passive thermal management with no internal fans, so it runs silently during normal use. The A9 chip balances two performance cores with two high-efficiency cores to keep power draw low. A non-removable 8827 mAh lithium-polymer battery supports extended sessions between charges without active cooling noise.

Aluminium unibody with Lightning connector

The iPad 5 features an aluminium unibody construction that feels rigid and resists everyday flex. A single Lightning port handles charging and data transfer via USB Type-A adapters. The 8 megapixel rear camera and front-facing camera cover basic photography and video calls. Buyers needing cellular connectivity or expandable storage should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the iPad 5 and what step do people often miss?

Power on, follow the on-screen Setup Assistant, connect to Wi-Fi, then sign in with an Apple ID — the step many skip is enabling automatic iCloud backups so the 128 GB of storage stays protected.

What part will need replacement first on this iPad 5?

The non-removable 8827 mAh lithium-polymer battery is the component most likely to require service after several hundred charge cycles.

What limit appears first during long sessions on the iPad 5?

Sustained workloads on the A9 chip with its two performance cores will hit thermal throttling before the 2 GB of RAM becomes a bottleneck.
