10.2-inch tablet for everyday tasks

The iPad 7th Gen A2197 offers a 10.2-inch Retina display with Touch ID and 32GB of storage. It runs iPadOS 15.4 on an Apple A10 Fusion chip with 3GB of memory. Wi-Fi connectivity supports browsing, streaming and the App Store ecosystem. This Silver unit is graded A and sold new.

Sustained use on A10 Fusion chip

The A10 Fusion processor handles typical workloads such as web browsing, video playback and light multitasking without thermal throttling. iPadOS 15.4 manages background activity to keep the system responsive over long sessions. Battery life is rated for all-day use under mixed conditions. The 3GB memory limit may restrict heavy multi-app workflows.

Upgrades from older 9.7-inch models

This model replaces earlier 9.7-inch iPads by adding a larger display, Smart Keyboard support and Apple Pencil compatibility. The jump is worth it for users who need more screen space for split-view apps or note-taking. Buyers who want more storage or cellular connectivity should consider other configurations. The 32GB capacity suits light local media needs.

Questions about this item

Does the A10 Fusion chip run hot or noisy during all-day use?

Which accessories are required to use the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil mentioned in the highlights?

Both accessories connect directly — Smart Keyboard via the Smart Connector and Apple Pencil (1st generation) via Lightning — no extra adapters needed.

Will my existing Lightning cables and USB-A chargers work with the 10.2-inch model?

Yes, the tablet retains a Lightning port, so your current Lightning cables and USB-A power adapters charge it without any change.
