Apple iPad Air 2 A1567 128GB Space Gray tablet

This iPad Air 2 model A1567 delivers 128GB of built-in storage in a Space Gray finish. It runs iOS with iPadOS 15.4 installed and features a 9.7-inch Retina IPS LCD touchscreen. The Apple A8X chip with 64-bit architecture and M8 motion coprocessor powers the device. It suits users needing a capable tablet for everyday tasks and media consumption.

Sustained performance profile

The A8X processor provides 40% faster CPU performance and 2.5 times the graphics performance over the previous iPad Air generation. The anti-reflective coating on the display reduces glare by 56% for comfortable extended viewing. Connectivity uses 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with MIMO support for download speeds up to 866 Mbps. Bluetooth 4.0 handles peripheral connections during long sessions.

Upgrade context and value

This unit replaces an earlier iPad Air with a thinner profile at 0.24 inches and lighter weight at 0.96 lb. The jump adds 128GB storage versus lower-capacity models and includes cellular capability in an unlocked configuration. Buyers who need more than 128GB of local storage should consider other options. The 2GB memory limit may constrain heavy multitasking workflows.

Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the A8X chip run during all-day use?

The 64-bit A8X chip and M8 coprocessor are passively cooled; the tablet has no fan, so it runs silently and stays within normal operating temperatures under sustained workloads.

Which SIM cards and carriers work with the cellular modem on this A1567 model?

The unit is factory unlocked and supports LTE bands for major carriers; insert an active nano-SIM from any compatible network to enable mobile data.

Can I use my Lightning headphones and older 30-pin dock accessories with this 9.7-inch iPad?

The Lightning port accepts Lightning headphones and current chargers; 30-pin accessories require Apple’s Lightning-to-30-pin adapter, which is sold separately.
