Apple iPad Air 16GB Wi-Fi tablet

The iPad Air MD785LL/A is a 9.7 inch Wi-Fi only tablet with 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of memory. It runs iOS 12 on a dual-core Apple A7 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. The Space Gray model suits users who need a lightweight iOS device for media consumption, web browsing and light productivity tasks away from a desk.

Sustained performance on A7 architecture

The A7 processor and 1GB of memory handle typical tablet workloads such as video playback and web browsing within the reported 10 hour battery life envelope. Integrated graphics drive the 2048 x 1536 LED display at 264 ppi during extended sessions. Thermal constraints in the 0.29 inch chassis limit continuous heavy compute tasks compared to larger devices with active cooling.

16GB fixed storage capacity

The 16GB SSD cannot be expanded and there are no USB ports for external drives. Buyers who need more storage for large media libraries or offline files should consider a model with higher capacity. The Lightning port provides data sync and charging only.

Questions about this item

Does the 9.7 inch display on this iPad Air get hot during a full day of use?

The LED-backlit IPS panel runs cool enough for all-day sessions; the tablet body stays comfortable to hold because the A7 chip draws modest power and there is no fan to add heat.

What existing charger or cable must I already own to power the Lightning port on this model?

Any Apple Lightning to USB cable and a standard USB power adapter will charge the device; the port also connects to a computer for syncing.

Will the Bluetooth 4.0 radio on this iPad Air pair with the older wireless keyboard I already use?

Yes, Bluetooth 4.0 is backward compatible, so the tablet will connect to keyboards, mice or speakers that support earlier Bluetooth versions.
