Aprilaire 8052 Outdoor Duct Sensor

The Aprilaire 8052 is a remote temperature sensor designed for outdoor or duct mounting in residential HVAC systems. It suits homeowners and installers adding remote sensing to compatible Aprilaire thermostats or humidifier controls.

10k ohm sensing with 300 ft range

The sensor uses a 10k ohm element and ships with 35 inch wire leads that can be extended using two-conductor thermostat wire. Maximum distance between the sensor and the thermostat or module is 300 ft, giving ample headroom for whole-home runs.

Passive design with included hardware

As a passive resistive device the 8052 draws no power and produces no noise during operation. Mounting hardware is included so the unit can be secured in ductwork or an outdoor location without additional parts.

Questions about this item

Will the 8052 sensor connect directly to my existing Aprilaire 8570 thermostat without extra modules?

Yes, the sensor wires straight to the 8570 thermostat; no additional module is required for that model.

How can I confirm the 10k ohm sensor is reading correctly once installed?

Compare the thermostat or humidifier control display to a known reference thermometer placed at the same location.

Does the package include the 8061 or 8062 module needed for an 8870 thermostat, or must I buy it separately?

The box contains the sensor and mounting hardware only; the 8061 or 8062 module is sold separately.
