What this adapter does

The AreMe USB C Splitter adds a second USB Type C port to devices that only have one, letting you connect USB C headphones, flash drives or card readers while the host device charges. It is built for handheld consoles such as the Rog Ally and Steam Deck, recent iPhone 15 and 16 models, iPad Air and Pro tablets, and a range of Android phones. The grey aluminium shell weighs 6 grams and requires no drivers or software to operate. It is not intended for video output or AR, VR or XR glasses.

Data speed and charging headroom

The adapter meets the USB 3.2 standard and supports up to 10 Gbps data transfer for moving large files quickly. Power Delivery reaches a maximum of 100 W at 20 V and 5 A, so the host device can charge at its fastest supported rate while the peripheral port is in use. There is no internal battery or power source; the splitter simply passes through the host’s own charger. If your device or cable cannot negotiate 100 W, charging will run at the lower negotiated rate.

Build fit and limitations

The splitter plugs directly into the host’s USB Type C port and presents a single female USB Type C socket for peripherals, adding no cable length and keeping the profile ultra thin. It frees the single port for simultaneous audio and charging without needing a dock or hub. Because it does not support video alt modes, it cannot drive external displays or immersive headsets. Buyers who need video output, multiple peripheral ports or legacy USB A connectors will need a different solution.
