Tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system covers up to 5,500 sq ft with dedicated 4.8 Gbps backhaul and speeds up to 6.6 Gbps
The ARRIS SURFboard mAX W121 is a tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system built for households that need consistent wireless performance across large indoor and outdoor areas. It uses dedicated backhaul and eight spatial streams per node to maintain throughput for 4K streaming, video calls and gaming simultaneously.
This system replaces a standalone router when dead zones appear on upper floors, in basements or outside the home. The jump is worth it when a single access point cannot deliver true gigabit speeds to every room and you need the 4.8 Gbps dedicated link between nodes to keep latency low for every connected device.
Under continuous multi-device traffic the tri-band design keeps one 5 GHz band reserved for node-to-node communication while the other bands serve clients. This architecture prevents the throughput collapse typical of dual-band mesh when many streams are active, delivering up to 6.6 Gbps aggregate capacity across 5,500 sq ft without the buffering spikes seen on lesser configurations.

Each unit plugs into a 120 Volt outlet and sits flat; no rack ears or wall brackets are included.
The SURFboard Central app requires you to create the dedicated 4.8 Gbps backhaul link before adding client devices.
The 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 5 GHz high bands are solid-state; only a power-cycle or firmware update via the app is ever required.
