Two-in-One Cable Gateway

The ARRIS SURFboard SBG7400AC2 combines a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with an AC2350 dual-band Wi-Fi router in a single unit. It delivers maximum internet speeds of 800 Mbps and supports wireless connectivity on the 5 GHz frequency band. The device includes four 1 Gbps Ethernet ports for wired connections to computers, streaming devices, and other hardware. It is certified for use with major U.S. cable providers including Comcast Xfinity, Cox, and Charter Spectrum.

Ideal for Rental-Free Home Networks

This gateway suits households that want to eliminate monthly modem rental fees, which can reach $168 per year depending on the provider. It provides a straightforward upgrade for users with internet plans up to the device's 800 Mbps limit. Buyers who need multi-gigabit WAN throughput or the newer DOCSIS 3.1 standard should look at alternative hardware. The unit is not designed for fibre-to-the-premises or DSL connections.

App-Managed Setup and Controls

The included SURFboard Central App handles activation, Wi-Fi customisation, and ongoing network monitoring from a mobile device. It adds parental controls such as time limits and the ability to pause internet access for specific devices. The package supplies a quick start guide and an AC power adapter so the unit is ready for immediate installation. No separate router purchase or configuration is required.
