Mac shooter for solo or co-op play

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is a first-person shooter published by Aspyr for macOS. The Steam code unlocks the full campaign that bridges the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2. Players who want a loot-driven shooter on Mac with native Steam integration are the target audience.

Runs on modest Mac hardware at steady frame rates

Minimum requirements call for OS X 10.9.4, a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM and 13 GB of disk space. Supported GPUs include Radeon HD 2600, GeForce 8800 or Intel HD 3000 with 256 MB VRAM. These specs indicate consistent performance during extended sessions rather than brief bursts.

Steam DRM and gamepad support shape daily use

The download requires a one-time Internet connection for Steam authentication. After activation the game runs offline. Supported controllers are the DualShock 4, DualShock 3 and Xbox 360 wired pad, giving couch-style play without keyboard and mouse. Region locks block activation in the listed countries.

Questions about this item

Will the 13 GB download and Steam client push my Mac's cooling fans hard during long sessions?

The game needs 13 GB of disk space and runs through Steam; fan noise depends on your Mac's thermal design rather than the title itself.

Do I need a Steam account and an internet connection before the code will activate?

Yes, a one-time internet connection and a free Steam account are required for the initial authentication.

Can I play with my Xbox 360 wired controller on an older Mac running 10.9.4 Mavericks?

The game supports the Xbox 360 for Windows wired controller, plus PlayStation 3 and 4 pads, on any Mac meeting the 10.9.4 minimum.
