Compatible Drum Unit for Brother Printers

This new aftermarket DR-830 drum unit replaces the Brother original in a wide range of mono laser printers. It fits models across the DCP-L, HL-L and MFC-L series listed in the specifications. The cartridge is sold individually and prints black only.

Operating Environment

The unit is rated for use between 10°C and 30°C with humidity from 20% to 80%. It can be stored at temperatures from -20°C to 40°C and the same humidity range. These conditions cover typical office and home settings without special climate control.

Page Yield

The drum is rated for approximately 15,000 pages per unit. Buyers who need a higher duty cycle or a multi-pack should look elsewhere. The single-pack format suits low-to-moderate volume printing where a spare is not required immediately.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DR-830 drum unit in my Brother HL-L2460DW and what step is often missed?

Open the front cover, remove the toner cartridge from the old drum, slide it into the new DR-830 unit until it clicks, then insert the combined assembly and close the cover; the step often missed is resetting the drum counter via the printer menu.

What maintenance or replacement will the DR-830 drum unit need after its 15000 page yield?

Once the drum reaches its rated 15000 pages, the entire DR-830 drum unit must be replaced; no separate cleaning or component service is specified for this unit.

What limit appears first on the DR-830 drum unit during long, continuous print runs?

The operating temperature ceiling of 30°C is the first environmental limit reached under sustained use; exceeding it can degrade print quality and drum life.
