  • Converts GA dual plugs to U174 helicopter connector

  • Outputs 7.0 mm male plug for military U174/U
  • Plug-and-play adapter avoids carrying two headsets
  • Prevents impedance mismatch with civilian aviation gear

GA Dual Plug to U174 Adapter

This adapter connects a general aviation headset with twin PJ-055 and PJ-068 jacks to a helicopter panel using a U174/U military plug. It lets pilots use one headset in both fixed-wing aircraft and rotary-wing platforms. The 7.0 mm male output mates with standard U174/U Nexus TP120 sockets. No configuration is required; the connection is plug and play.

Pilots Flying Both Fixed-Wing and Rotary Aircraft

The adapter suits aviators who operate general aviation aeroplanes and also fly helicopters equipped with U174/U intercom ports. It eliminates the need to carry two separate headsets. Builders or operators needing a U174/U to GA conversion, a different military connector standard, or an impedance-matching solution for civilian gear should look elsewhere.

7.1 mm Male U174/U Output Plug

The single specification that decides fit is the 7.1 mm male U174/U Nexus TP120 output plug. Verify that the helicopter intercom panel accepts this exact connector before purchase. The input side accepts standard .250 inch and .206 inch GA dual plugs.
