Tenkeyless layout for FPS gamers

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope NX TKL is a compact mechanical keyboard built for first-person shooter players who need extra mouse room. Its 80% form factor removes the numeric pad to free desk space for low-sensitivity aiming. An enlarged left Ctrl key reduces accidental presses during intense firefights. The keyboard connects via a single USB 2.0 port.

ROG NX Brown tactile switches

Lubricated stems and housings deliver smooth keystrokes while eliminating bounce noise for consistent tactile feedback. Per-key RGB LEDs provide individual lighting customisation across the compact frame. An aluminium top plate adds structural rigidity and a distinctive slash aesthetic. The board draws power from one USB connection with no extra cables required.

Upgrade from full-size membrane keyboards

Users moving from standard office keyboards gain mechanical precision, tactile response and a smaller footprint that fits in a backpack. The detachable braided USB Type-A to Type-C cable prevents damage during transport. Builders who need a dedicated number pad or dedicated macro keys should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 80% tenkeyless layout with enlarged L-Ctrl key work well with my existing full-size mousepad?

The compact 80% form factor frees up desk space for wider mouse movements, and the enlarged left Ctrl key is easier to locate during fast-paced FPS play.

How can I confirm the per-key RGB lighting and ROG NX Brown switches are functioning correctly after plugging in?

Connect the detachable USB Type-A to Type-C cable to a USB 2.0 port; each key should light individually and the tactile Brown switches will give a smooth, lubricated feel with a distinct bump at actuation.

What comes in the box and do I need to purchase any extra cables or software?

The package includes the keyboard, a detachable braided USB Type-A to Type-C cable, ROG stickers, a quick start guide and a warranty booklet; no additional cables are required for basic operation.
