System configuration

The ASUS Prime AP202 is a new gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card with 32GB of GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory, a 2TB NVMe SSD and a 1200W power supply. A 360mm liquid cooler handles CPU thermals and Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Target audience

This system suits buyers who want a ready-to-play machine for 4K gaming and heavy content creation without assembling parts themselves. The 8-core CPU and high-end GPU combination handles demanding workloads out of the box. Builders who prefer to choose every component individually or who need a different storage layout should look at a custom build instead.

Deciding specification

The graphics card uses a PCI Express x16 interface and requires the 1200W power supply included in this chassis. Verify that the intended display and motherboard platform support this connection before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 360mm liquid cooler require?

The 360mm liquid cooler needs a chassis with a 360mm radiator mounting location and enough internal space for the radiator, fans and tubing.

How is the AM5 CPU installed and what step is often missed?

The Ryzen 7 9700X drops into the AM5 socket with the alignment triangle matched; the step often missed is removing the protective cover from the liquid-cooler cold plate before mounting.

When will the 360mm liquid cooler need maintenance or replacement?

A sealed 360mm liquid cooler typically runs for several years; plan to replace the unit if pump noise appears or CPU temperatures rise unexpectedly.
