ASUS ROG Kithara A702 Gaming Headset Black

Audiophile-grade planar magnetic headset

The ASUS ROG Kithara A702 is a wired gaming headset built around 100mm HIFIMAN planar magnetic drivers tuned by ROG. It targets competitive gamers and audio enthusiasts who want detailed, low-distortion sound in an open-back design. The package includes interchangeable leatherette and velour ear cushions for adjustable comfort and acoustic character. An eight-level adjustable headband and metal frame provide a durable, premium fit for long sessions.

Open-back soundstage and microphone range

The open-back architecture creates a spacious, natural soundstage with clear separation across bass, mids and treble, ideal for immersive gaming and critical listening. However, the design leaks sound both ways, so it is not suited for noisy environments or users who need isolation. The on-cable MEMS boom microphone captures voice across a 20Hz20kHz range with high signal-to-noise ratio for clean communication. It is a fixed boom, so users wanting a detachable or inline mic should look elsewhere.

Wired connectivity via 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm

Connectivity relies on a 4.4mm balanced connector, dual 3.5mm single-ended plugs and a 6.3mm adapter, plus a USB-C adapter for broad device compatibility. The headset is passive and requires an external source with sufficient drive voltage; low-power ports may not deliver adequate volume or dynamics. No wireless option, Bluetooth or active noise cancellation is included. Buyers needing wireless freedom or active features will need a different product.
