ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JMR

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JMR is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. It ships with Windows 11 Home, 96 GB of DDR5 memory and a 4 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. The chassis measures 13.94 by 10.55 by 0.90 to 1.21 inches and weighs 6.02 lbs.

96 GB DDR5 for heavy multitasking

The 96 GB DDR5 configuration suits users who run virtual machines, large datasets or memory-intensive creative workloads alongside gaming. Buyers whose primary use is mainstream gaming or general productivity will find lower-capacity models more cost-effective and should consider those instead.

RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7

The single specification that decides fit is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory. It determines the graphical performance ceiling for modern titles at the panel's 1920 by 1200 resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate.

Questions about this item

Will the 165Hz WUXGA panel and RTX 5060 GPU work with my older 60Hz external monitor over HDMI?

Yes, the laptop can drive an external 60Hz display at its native resolution while the internal panel runs at 165Hz. The RTX 5060 with 8GB GDDR7 handles both outputs simultaneously.

How can I verify the CPU and GPU are hitting their rated speeds after the thermal-paste upgrade?

Run a stress test such as Cinebench or 3DMark and watch for the i9-14900HX reaching its 5.8 GHz max turbo and the RTX 5060 sustaining its boost clocks without thermal throttling.

Does the 96 GB DDR5 5600MHz kit and 4 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage ship installed, or must I add them myself?

Both upgrades are factory-installed by the BTO dealer — 96 GB as two 48 GB modules and 4 TB as two 2 TB drives — so the laptop arrives ready to use.
