18-inch 240 Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 pairs an 18.0-inch WQXGA IPS panel running at 2560 x 1600 with a 240 Hz refresh rate for smooth motion in fast-paced titles. It is powered by a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. The system ships with 16 GB DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD, running Windows 11 Pro out of the box.

HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11be connectivity

A single HDMI 2.1 port drives external displays at high refresh rates without adapters. Wireless traffic uses 802.11be and Bluetooth 5.4 for low-latency peripherals and networking. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one Type-C port handle storage and accessories, while a combo audio jack and RJ45 complete the I/O selection.

16 GB memory and 1 TB primary storage

The 16 GB DDR5 configuration handles current games and multitasking workloads without paging in most scenarios. The 1 TB SSD provides quick level loads and ample room for a working library of titles. A bundled docking station adds a secondary 1 TB of external storage, a 32 GB microSD card and cables for expanded capacity when the internal drive fills.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB DDR5 version or add more memory later?

The laptop ships with 16 GB of DDR5; the CPU supports up to 24 cores at 5.4 GHz, so extra memory helps only if your workloads exceed the installed amount.

What does the 240 Hz WQXGA panel actually deliver in games?

The 18 inch 2560 x 1600 IPS screen refreshes at 240 Hz, giving smooth motion for competitive titles when the RTX 5070 8 GB GDDR7 GPU can push high frame rates.

What can the HDMI 2.1 port drive on an external monitor?

The HDMI 2.1 output connects to external displays at the panel's native 2560 x 1600 resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate, limited by the port's bandwidth and the GPU's capabilities.
