18-inch WUXGA gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814PH-ES94-HID9 is an 18-inch WUXGA gaming laptop built for enthusiasts who want desktop-class performance in a portable chassis. It pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU carrying 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The 144 Hz IPS-level panel delivers 1920 x 1200 resolution for fast, clear visuals.

Memory, storage and OS to verify

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz memory in dual-channel configuration and 8 TB of total PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 4 TB M.2 drives. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed. Confirm that your workflow can use the installed memory capacity and that the storage layout matches your backup strategy before ordering.

Thermals, noise and power in normal use

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU to lower core temperatures under sustained load. The 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91–1.21 inch chassis weighing 6.61 lbs provides room for airflow, so fan noise stays moderate during typical gaming sessions. Power draw scales with the 5.2 GHz max turbo frequency and the discrete RTX 5050 graphics.
