Handheld Gaming PC with 8 TB Storage

The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X RC73XA is a 7 inch Windows 11 gaming handheld built around an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor with 8 cores and 16 threads. It carries 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory and an 8 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The 7 inch FHD touch display runs at 120 Hz.

Upgrade from Smaller Capacity Handhelds

The jump is worth it when you need desktop scale storage and 24 GB of unified memory for large game libraries or creative workloads. The 8 TB NVMe 4.0 drive removes the need for external expansion. The 16 thread CPU and Radeon graphics handle modern titles at 1080p.

Portable Build Centerpiece

The chassis measures 11.42 by 4.76 by 1.08 inches and weighs 1.58 lbs so it fits in a small bag. Onboard controls and touchscreen replace a separate keyboard and mouse. USB ports and wireless connectivity let you add a dock, monitor or peripherals for a desktop session.

Questions about this item

Will the 7-inch 1920 x 1080 120 Hz touchscreen work well for handheld gaming?

The 7.0-inch IPS-level panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution at 120 Hz with touch input, giving sharp visuals and smooth motion in a compact form factor.

Can the 8 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD be upgraded later?

The drive uses an M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface, so a larger or faster module can be installed if the single slot is accessible.

Is 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory enough for modern AAA titles?

The soldered 24 GB (2 x 12 GB) LPDDR5X configuration handles current games and heavy multitasking without needing a memory upgrade.
