ROG Zephyrus S15 GX502LXS-XS79

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S15 GX502LXS-XS79 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-10875H processor with 8 cores and a turbo frequency up to 5.10 GHz. It ships with 48 GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory and a 2 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD. Graphics are handled by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q with 8 GB GDDR6 video memory. The display runs at 300Hz with G-Sync support.

Factory upgrades and quality checks

HIDevolution installs the 48 GB memory kit as 16 GB on-board plus a 32 GB module and fits the 2 TB NVMe SSD before shipment. Each unit undergoes BIOS and driver updates, burn-in stress testing, benchmark verification, keyboard and touchpad checks, port validation, display inspection and a physical chassis review. The work is covered under the standard ASUS warranty so the original guarantee remains intact.

Sustained load behaviour

The Max-Q GPU variant and slim 0.74-inch chassis limit peak power draw compared with full-power RTX 2080 Super designs. Under extended gaming or render sessions the CPU and GPU will throttle to maintain thermal limits, so average frame rates settle below short-burst peaks. The 300Hz panel still benefits from high refresh rates once the system reaches its steady state. Gigabit LAN and WLAN provide stable network throughput during long sessions.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 300 Hz panel is running at its native refresh rate after setup?

Open Windows display settings, choose the 300 Hz option under refresh rate, then run a motion-clarity test such as the UFO test in a browser to verify smooth frames at 300 Hz.

Which components are included and which must be purchased separately?

The box contains the laptop with 48 GB DDR4 2666 MHz memory (16 GB on-board plus 32 GB module), 2 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q 8 GB GDDR6 graphics, 15.6 inch FHD 300 Hz IPS-level G-Sync display, Windows 10 Pro, and the power adapter. No extra parts are required for operation.

Should I choose the 48 GB configuration or a lower capacity for my workload?

Select the 48 GB configuration if you run virtual machines, large datasets, or heavy multitasking; the 16 GB on-board plus 32 GB module arrangement leaves no free slot for future expansion, so size the memory to your peak usage now.
