Ultra-Slim DVD Writer for Mac and PC

The ASUS SDRW-08U9M-U is an ultra-slim external DVD writer designed for USB 2.0 Type-C connectivity. It supports both Mac and PC platforms, making it a versatile optical drive for modern laptops. The compact form factor suits thin-and-light notebooks such as the ZenBook series. It writes DVDs at 8x speed for everyday burning tasks.

Replaces Internal Optical Drives on Port-Limited

This drive upgrades systems that lack a built-in DVD writer or only offer legacy USB-A ports. The USB 2.0 Type-C interface connects directly to newer ultraportables without a separate adapter. The jump is worth it when you still need to read or write optical media on a device with limited expansion. It is not for users who require Blu-ray playback or faster USB 3.0 transfer rates.
