Two-port KVM extender with Cat 5e reach

The ATEN CE770 is a two-port KVM switch that extends keyboard, video and mouse signals over Cat 5e cable up to 900 ft. It consists of a local unit and a remote unit, each with its own console connections. The system supports dual console operation so the same computer can be controlled from either location. It is designed for server rooms or industrial environments where the operator must be separated from the hardware.

Video headroom at distance

At 300 ft the extender delivers 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz. At the full 900 ft the supported resolution drops to 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz. The built-in de-skew function automatically compensates for cable skew to maintain image quality. Buyers who need WUXGA resolution at the maximum 900 ft distance will find this unit does not meet that requirement.

Analog VGA over Cat 5e interface

The console and computer video connections use HDB-15 (VGA) and the extension link uses RJ-45 Cat 5e. No digital video interface such as HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI is provided. If the target systems or displays require a digital video connection, this extender will not be compatible.
