Four-Port KM Switch for Multi-System Control

The ATEN CS724KM connects a single keyboard and mouse to four computers via USB 2.0 links. It supports one local user and adds a network port for remote management integration. The rack-mountable chassis suits server rooms, labs or multi-workstation desks where separate monitors are already in place.

Eight USB Ports and Audio Cabling Included

The package supplies four USB 2.0-A to USB 2.0-B cables at 1.8 m each plus four matching audio cables. Eight USB ports on the switch handle keyboard, mouse and peripheral sharing without extra hubs. Boundless switching lets the cursor move across screen edges to change the active system instantly.

Four-Computer Limit and USB 2.0 Bandwidth

The switch handles four connected hosts comfortably for office, monitoring or light creative workloads. USB 2.0 throughput caps peripheral speed, so high-bandwidth devices such as fast external storage will run below their rated performance. Buyers needing five or more systems or USB 3.x data rates must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often will the included 1.8m USB 2.0-A to USB 2.0-B cables need replacement under daily switching?

The four supplied 1.8m USB 2.0 cables are rated for standard USB 2.0 durability; replace only if connectors loosen or cables show physical wear.

What limit appears first when the CS724KM manages four computers continuously?

The single local-user design means only one keyboard and mouse set controls all four ports at once; simultaneous multi-user operation is not supported.

How much heat or fan noise does the rack-mountable unit produce during all-day operation?

The 1.10 lb, 1-inch-high chassis has no active cooling; it runs silently with negligible heat under normal KM switching loads.
