DisplayPort HDBaseT extender for 4K signals

The ATEN VE901 extends a single DisplayPort source up to 229.66 ft over Category 6a twisted-pair cabling. It supports a maximum video resolution of 4096 x 2160 and includes both a transmitter and a receiver in the package. Rack-mountable units suit professional AV installations that need long-distance 4K distribution.

HDBaseT distance and cable constraints

The 229.66 ft operating limit applies only when using Category 6a cable; lesser categories will reduce the reliable range. Two RJ-45 ports on each unit carry the video, audio and control signals together. The extender does not add compression latency beyond the HDBaseT-Lite specification.

Rack installation and common pitfalls

Each unit measures 1.18 in high, 3.43 in wide and 3.96 in deep, fitting standard rack shelves with the supplied hardware. The package provides two power adapters, one for each endpoint, so both sides need an AC outlet. Forgetting to power the receiver is the most frequent cause of a blank display.
