Control eight HDMI computers from one console

The CS1798 8-Port USB HDMI KVM Switch lets a single USB keyboard, mouse and monitor manage up to eight HDMI-equipped computers. It also provides two extra USB 2.0 ports for shared peripherals such as printers or storage drives. The unit is HDMI compatible and supports cascading up to three levels for larger installations.

Expand to 512 systems

Cascading three levels extends control to a maximum of 512 computers from the same console. The multi-display feature allows stacking up to eight CS1798 units so each computer with multiple video cards can output to separate monitors. An on-screen display (OSD) provides menu-driven access to any connected system and includes configuration backup and restore.

Suited for server rooms and multi-head workstations

This switch fits environments that need centralised management of many HDMI computers or simultaneous monitoring across several displays. Buyers who require DisplayPort or DVI video inputs should look at alternative KVM models. Users needing only two or four ports may find smaller switches more cost-effective.

Questions about this item

What USB 2.0 ports might need attention over time?

The switch provides two USB 2.0 ports for extra peripherals; only the cables or devices plugged into them typically wear out.

What limits video performance during extended sessions?

Each computer connects through its own HDMI link, so the cable and source device set the practical ceiling.

How much heat or noise appears when the unit runs all day?

The CS1798 has no fan and draws minimal power, so it stays silent and barely warm during continuous use.
