Compatible 15.6-inch FHD replacement panel

This 15.6-inch Full HD display replaces the NV156FHM-NY5 panel in compatible laptops. It delivers a 1920x1080 resolution at a 144Hz refresh rate with 500 cd/m² brightness and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. The non-touch screen uses a 40-pin video connector. Buyers seeking a direct match for this specific part number will find the correct fit.

40-pin connector and non-touch design

The 40-pin video signal connector determines cable compatibility; a different pin count will not connect. Because the panel lacks a touch layer, it cannot restore touch functionality on models that originally shipped with a touchscreen. The matte finish reduces glare without adding a digitiser. Installers must verify the existing cable matches the 40-pin layout before ordering.

Check part number and cable before ordering

Confirm the original screen carries the exact NV156FHM-NY5 part number printed on its label. Measure the diagonal to ensure a 15.6-inch chassis opening. Inspect the motherboard-end connector and cable routing to match the 40-pin interface. A mismatch in part number, size or pin count will prevent installation.

Questions about this item

Does the 40-pin connector on the NV156FHM-NY5 panel wear out and need replacement over time?

The 40-pin video connector is a passive interface; it does not degrade with normal use and requires no scheduled replacement.

What is the first limitation you hit when running the NV156FHM-NY5 at 144Hz continuously?

The panel is rated for 144Hz refresh at 1920x1080; sustained operation at that rate stays within its specified performance envelope.

How much heat or power does the NV156FHM-NY5 generate when driven at 500 cd/m² brightness all day?

At 500 cd/m² brightness the panel draws its normal operating power; no additional heat or power figures are published for continuous use.
