Two-pack HDMI to VGA converter

This AUBEAMTO HDV101 two-pack converts an HDMI male source to a VGA female display connection. Each adapter includes a 3.5 mm audio output jack and a matching audio cable for simultaneous sound. The built-in IC chip and gold-plated connectors aim to keep the signal stable. No drivers or software are required for operation.

Suits legacy displays, not low-power sources

The adapters work with laptops, desktops, Ultrabooks, DVD players, tablets, projectors, HDTVs and cable boxes that have a standard HDMI output. They do not function with low-power HDMI ports found on certain MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Apple TV or PlayStation 4 units. Buyers needing an active DisplayPort or DVI conversion should look elsewhere. ARC audio return is not supported.

Audio cable enables sound on VGA screens

The supplied 3.5 mm audio cable plugs into the adapter jack so speakers or headphones can receive sound while video feeds the VGA monitor or projector. This removes the need for a separate HDMI audio extractor. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion during repeated plug cycles. The compact 8.11 x 5.04 x .71 inch form factor fits easily in a laptop bag.

Questions about this item

What must the source device provide for the HDMI male connector on this adapter to function?

The source needs a standard HDMI output port; the adapter draws its power from that port and requires no external supply.

How does the 1920x1080 maximum resolution interact with a legacy VGA monitor that tops out lower?

The adapter passes the signal through; you must set the source resolution to match or stay below the monitor's native limit.

After plugging in both adapters from the 2-pack, what indicates the 3.5 mm audio path is live?

Sound plays from the connected speakers or headphones when the included 3.5 mm cable is seated and the source routes audio to HDMI.
