What this cable delivers

The AUBEAMTO U4A is a USB4 cable rated for 40Gbps data transfer, 100W power delivery and 8K 60Hz video over a USB-C to USB-C connection. It includes an e-marker chip, nylon-braided copper conductors and gold-plated connectors. The two-metre length is sold as a two-pack.

Who benefits and who does not

Users with Thunderbolt 3 or 4 hosts who need full 40Gbps bandwidth for external SSDs, eGPUs or docking stations will use the rated speed. Builders who require longer runs or angled connectors for tight ports should look at other options.

The spec that decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 40Gbps USB4 rating with Thunderbolt 3 support and 100W PD. If the host or peripheral only operates at 20Gbps or lower power, the cable will still work but its maximum performance will not be used.

Questions about this item

What comes in the pack and do I need a separate power brick?

The pack contains two 4 ft USB4 cables with USB C to USB C connectors. A power brick is not included; the cable delivers up to 100W (20V/5A) from any compatible USB-C charger you already own.

Which version should I pick for 8K 60 Hz video and 40 Gbps data?

The U4A model is the only version listed. It supports single 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@60Hz video and 40Gbps data transfer, provided both host and display support DP Alternate Mode.

Will I actually see 40 Gbps throughput when I plug this into my laptop and SSD?

The cable is rated for 40Gbps and includes an e-marker chip, so it will not bottleneck the link. Real-world speed depends on your laptop port, SSD controller and file sizes, but the cable itself supports the full spec.
