Portable CD Player with Bluetooth

The AUDIOVOX 918 is a compact CD player that plays CD, MP3, CD-RW, CD-R and WMA discs. Built-in dual stereo speakers and a rechargeable battery let you listen without headphones or a wall outlet. Bluetooth adds wireless streaming to an external speaker. The black unit weighs .8 lb and measures 14.33x12.83x9.06 in.

Upgrade from mains-only or speaker-less models

This unit replaces a player that must stay plugged in or lacks its own speakers. The rechargeable battery gives up to six hours of playback after a three-hour charge, so the jump is worth it when you want music away from a power socket. Bluetooth removes the need for a cable to a separate speaker.

Fits a bag or shelf, runs on battery

The small footprint and .8 lb weight let it sit on a desk, kitchen counter or travel bag without a dedicated power lead. Built-in speakers free you from headphones for casual listening, while the headphone jack keeps private listening simple. An AUX input and USB support let you connect other sources when discs are not in use.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions I need to allow for this 918 player?

The unit measures 14.33 inches wide, 12.83 inches high and 9.06 inches deep, so allow at least that footprint plus a little clearance for the lid to open.

How do I charge the built-in battery and what step do people skip?

Connect the supplied charging cable for about three hours until the indicator shows full; the step often missed is leaving it plugged in long enough for a complete first charge.

When will the rechargeable battery need replacing?

After many charge cycles the internal battery will hold less than the original six-hour runtime, at which point the unit must be sent for professional battery service.
