Professional media player for installations

The TASCAM CD-400U is a professional media player built for institutions, music venues, retail spaces, schools and restaurants. It handles CD, Bluetooth wireless, SD, USB and AM/FM tuner sources in one rack-mountable unit. Recording from CD or AM/FM to SD or USB media is supported. XLR balanced outputs, RCA unbalanced outputs and a dedicated AM/FM RCA pair provide flexible audio routing.

Installation and common issues

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections integrate quickly with professional amplifiers and mixers. An 1/8" auxiliary input accepts external sources and a headphone jack allows silent monitoring. The panel lock function disables front buttons to prevent accidental changes during events. Automatic playback on power-up simplifies daily operation in unattended installations.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify that your amplifier or mixer accepts XLR balanced or RCA unbalanced line-level signals. Confirm you have an available RS-232C port if you plan to integrate external control systems. Ensure the rack space accommodates a standard 1U component and that your audio cables match the provided output types.
