Audiovox ACA801 Backup Camera Overview

Suitable Vehicles and Limitations

This camera suits drivers who want a low-profile unit that bolts to the existing license plate bracket and offers selectable normal or mirror image plus optional parking lines. Buyers who need a flush-mount or surface-mount design for a different mounting location should look at other form factors.

180-Degree Viewing Angle

The 180-degree viewing angle is the single specification that determines whether this camera covers the required field of view behind the vehicle. Confirm that this angle matches the blind-zone requirements for your specific application before purchase.

Questions about this item

What video standards does the ACA801 camera output?

The camera outputs both NTSC and PAL signals, so it works with head units that accept either standard without extra converters.

How much clearance does the license-plate bracket need behind the plate?

The included bracket mounts on the existing licence-plate bolts and adds only a slim profile, fitting behind most standard plates without spacer kits.

Which wiring step do installers most often miss on this camera?

Connecting the mirror-image and parking-line control wires to the head unit’s trigger inputs; leaving them floating locks the image in one mode.
