Incremental rotary encoder delivers 100 pulses per revolution at up to 5000 rpm with 300 kHz response and 5 VDC totem-pole output
This Autonics E50S8-100-3-T-5 encoder delivers 100 pulses per revolution through a totem-pole output. It operates on a 5 VDC supply with a maximum response frequency of 300 kHz. The Ø8 mm shaft supports speeds up to 5000 rpm with a starting torque no greater than 70 gf·cm. An axial cable exits the IP50-rated housing.
Engineers building CNC axes, servo loops or measurement rigs that need clean digital quadrature signals will find the resolution and speed rating appropriate. The IP50 seal only blocks particles larger than 1 mm, so environments with fine dust, coolant spray or wash-down cycles should look at higher-rated models.
Each full turn produces exactly 100 pulses, setting the smallest detectable angular step. If the application demands finer interpolation or coarser counts, a different resolution variant is required.

The encoder accepts a Ø8 mm shaft for direct coupling to a motor or leadscrew.
Connect the three totem-pole output channels to 5 VDC ±5 % power before securing the cable, otherwise the outputs stay low.
Check the seals every 5000 operating hours or once a year, whichever comes first, to maintain the IP50 protection.
