Three-PC triple-monitor KVM switch

The AUTYUE KC-KVM303DH lets three computers share three displays and four USB 3.0 peripherals through one keyboard and mouse set. It accepts two DisplayPort and one HDMI input per computer and mirrors that layout on the output side. A wired remote and front-panel buttons both change the active system while LEDs show which PC is live. The unit ships with four USB 3.0 cables, a 12 V power adapter and the remote.

8K60 and 4K144Hz ceiling with cable dependency

Video bandwidth tops out at 8K at 60 Hz and steps down through 4K at 144 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. Reaching 4K144 requires every link in the chain — computer, monitor and cable — to support that rate; any conversion cable breaks the signal. USB 3.0 ports run at 5 Gbps and fall back to USB 2.0 and 1.1 speeds when older devices are attached. The switch draws power from the included 12 V adapter and will not operate without it.

Check graphics outputs

Each computer must provide two DisplayPort and one HDMI port; the three monitors must match with two DisplayPort and one HDMI input respectively. Every PC also needs a USB 3.0 link to the switch or the shared peripherals will not appear. The box measures 3.94 by 2.76 by 0.79 inches and includes a 1.5 m wired remote, so allow desk space for the controller cable. Driver-free operation covers Windows, Mac, Unix and Ubuntu.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8K@60Hz or the 4K@144Hz capability for my setup?

The switch handles both; it will pass 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz depending on what your graphics cards, monitors and cables support.

What does the 8K@60Hz rating actually deliver on my three screens?

Each of the three outputs can carry up to 8K resolution at 60 Hz, provided every PC, monitor and cable in the chain also supports that mode.

Which video interfaces are used and what do they limit?

Each computer connects through one HDMI and two DisplayPort inputs; the three monitors attach to one HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs, capping each link at the resolution and refresh rate the source and display negotiate.
