6 ft Toslink cable for home audio

The AUTYUE Toslink cable carries digital optical audio between source devices and sound systems. Male-to-male connectors fit sound bars, home-theatre receivers, televisions, PS4 and Xbox consoles. A 1.8 m length suits typical living-room layouts.

Suits stereo and 5.1 setups using optical input

Buyers who need HDMI audio return channel or multichannel formats beyond standard optical bandwidth should look elsewhere. The cable is built for uncompressed PCM and compressed surround delivered over Toslink.

250 MB/s optical bandwidth sets the limit

Digital transmission speed reaches 250 MB/s, which defines the maximum audio data rate the link can carry. This figure decides whether the cable meets a particular system's requirements.

Questions about this item

What does the 250MB/S transmission speed mean when the cable is connected?

The cable supports digital audio data rates up to 250MB/S, enabling lossless multi-channel sound such as Dolby Digital and DTS without compression artefacts.

What does the Toslink interface limit in practice?

Toslink carries S/PDIF optical signals, so it is limited to stereo PCM or compressed 5.1 formats like Dolby Digital and DTS; it cannot pass uncompressed 5.1/7.1 PCM or high-bitrate codecs such as Dolby TrueHD.

Will the 6ft braided cable with gold-plated male ends fit my soundbar and TV ports?

Yes, the 1.8 m nylon-braided cable terminates in standard square Toslink male connectors with 24K gold-plated tips, matching the optical ports on most soundbars, TVs, PS4, Xbox and AV receivers.
