Small rectangular SFP+ transceiver module with metallic housing and LC duplex optical ports

Avago

Avago AFBR-703SDZ 10GBASE-SR SFP+ 850nm 300m DOM

SKU CH-XS1E-VBFK2

10 Gbps SFP+ transceiver for multimode fibre up to 300 m at 850 nm with digital optical monitoring

  • 3125 Gbps data rate for 10GBASE-SR links
  • 850 nm VCSEL laser drives multimode fibre up to 300 m
  • LC duplex connector for standard patch-panel compatibility
  • Digital optical monitoring reports real-time power and temperature
  • Commercial temperature range 0 to 70 °C for rack environments

10GBASE-SR SFP+ module for short-reach fibre links

This Avago AFBR-703SDZ transceiver delivers 10.3125G bps over multimode fibre at 850nm. It is built for switches and routers that need 10 Gigabit connectivity up to 300m on OM3 cable. Digital optical monitoring is supported for link diagnostics.

Check LC duplex ports and OM3 multimode fibre

Verify that your equipment accepts SFP+ form-factor modules with LC duplex connectors. The link requires OM3 multimode fibre to reach the rated 300m distance. Confirm the host operates within the commercial temperature range of 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F).

Replaces older 1G SFP or fixed copper uplinks

This module upgrades 1G SFP uplinks to 10G speeds without changing cabling if OM3 is already installed. It also replaces fixed copper 10GBASE-T ports where fibre distance or immunity is preferred. The jump is worth it when aggregate traffic exceeds 1G sustained throughput.

Questions about this item

Does the module ship with a patch cable or must I buy the LC duplex multimode fibre separately?

Only the transceiver is supplied; you need to provide your own LC duplex multimode patch cable for the link.

The listing mentions a single part number — are there alternative reach or wavelength versions to consider?

This part is fixed at 850 nm with a 300 m reach on OM3 fibre; no other reach or wavelength variants exist for this MPN.

My switch port is rated for 10.3125 Gbps — will the transceiver’s 10.3125 Gbps maximum data rate match it directly?

Yes, the module’s maximum data rate of 10.3125 Gbps aligns with a 10 GBASE-SR port running at that line rate.
