48-port 1GbE Class 6 PoE module

This HPE R0X40C module adds 48 RJ-45 1000Base-T ports with Class 6 PoE to a compatible Aruba chassis. It targets network teams who need high-density copper access and powered device support in a single line card. The module fits rack-mounted environments where twisted-pair cabling is standard.

Four SFP56 expansion slots

Four SFP56 slots provide fibre uplinks or direct-attach links at higher speeds than the copper ports. They allow the module to aggregate traffic from the 48 access ports onto optical or high-speed copper uplinks without consuming extra chassis bays. This flexibility lets architects tailor uplink capacity to the site design.

48 powered ports and 4 uplinks

The 48 ports deliver both data and Class 6 power for devices such as wireless access points and IP phones. The four SFP56 uplinks carry the aggregated traffic toward the core. When PoE demand exceeds the chassis power budget or when more than four high-speed uplinks are required, an additional module or chassis is necessary.
