Self-Adhesive Tabs for Filing

Avery 16228 self-adhesive tabs attach permanently to pages so you can locate specific sections quickly. Each tab holds a printable insert that works with laser and inkjet printers using free Avery templates. The pack contains 25 tabs in assorted colours for colour-coded organisation.

Permanent Adhesive and Printable Inserts

The permanent adhesive keeps tabs fixed through repeated handling without lifting. Inserts can be handwritten or printed, giving you flexibility for quick notes or polished labels. Assorted colours let you assign categories visually across files, binders or catalogues.

Upgrades Handwritten Flags and Basic Sticky Notes

These tabs replace loose sticky notes and handwritten page markers that fall off or fade. The jump is worth it when you need durable, reusable reference points that stay aligned and legible across long documents or archived folders.

Questions about this item

What tab cut style do the 16228 inserts use and how many tabs does that create per row?

The tabs use a 1/5-cut design, which yields five tabs across the width of a hanging folder for clear section separation.

What folder dimensions are needed for these self-adhesive tabs to fit properly?

They are sized for standard hanging folders with a 1 1/2 inch tab height and a five-position cut layout.

How do you apply the printable inserts and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Print the inserts using Avery Design & Print templates, then slide each one into its tab before peeling the backing and pressing the tab firmly onto the folder page; skipping the insert step leaves blank tabs.
