Large leather repair patch

This single Avery Shag patch measures 17 by 79 inches and uses an epoxy-based self-adhesive backing. It is aimed at DIYers who need to cover large tears or stains on sofas, chairs, cabinets or similar surfaces in one piece.

Waterproof adhesive limits

The waterproof epoxy glue bonds strongly within seconds and resists scrubbing, but it is not rated for structural loads or permanent outdoor exposure. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oils, otherwise the bond can fail on textured vinyl, raw wood or heavily flexing joints.

Simple cut-and-stick install

Scissors cut the vinyl cleanly into custom shapes, and the film peels off leaving no residue when repositioned early. Common problems are trapped air bubbles on curved panels and weak adhesion on porous or damp substrates that were not wiped down first.

Questions about this item

Is the 17x79 inch size right for a single large repair or should I buy multiple packs?

One pack provides a single 17 by 79 inch sheet that can be cut to cover one large area or several smaller patches on furniture, walls or leather goods.

How does the waterproof epoxy adhesive hold up on a leather sofa that gets daily use?

The self-adhesive epoxy layer bonds strongly to leather, vinyl and similar surfaces, resists water and scrubbing, and stays in place through regular contact.

What surfaces does the self-adhesive backer actually stick to without extra glue?

It adheres directly to leather, suede, vinyl, wood, painted walls and most smooth furniture finishes without additional adhesive.
