Outdoor wired bullet camera

The Avigilon H6A 4MP bullet camera is built for outdoor surveillance with a wired connection. Its varifocal lens covers a 4.4-9.3 mm focal range and provides 2.1x optical zoom for adjustable framing. The 1/1.8 inch sensor captures 4.0 megapixel resolution suited to fixed monitoring points.

Practical limits of wired varifocal

Wired power and data installation is required, so cable routing must reach each mounting location. The varifocal lens allows focal-length adjustment during setup but does not motorise zoom after installation. Outdoor rating permits exposure to weather without additional housing.

4MP resolution on 1/1.8 sensor

The 4.0 megapixel image sensor determines the level of detail available for identification and review. Buyers who need higher pixel counts or wider dynamic range should consider models with larger sensors or greater resolution. This unit delivers 4MP as its maximum output.

Questions about this item

Which focal-length range suits a driveway versus a narrow alley?

The varifocal lens adjusts from 4.4 mm for a wide driveway view to 9.3 mm for a tighter alley perspective, giving 2.1x optical zoom to frame the scene precisely.

What does the 4 MP resolution on a 1/1.8 inch sensor deliver in low light?

The larger 1/1.8 inch sensor captures more light per pixel, so the 4 MP image stays cleaner at night with less noise than smaller-sensor cameras.

How does the wired PoE connection limit cable runs?

The camera draws power and data over a single Ethernet cable; standard PoE cabling carries both within normal structured-wiring distances without extra injectors.
