Check Network and Mounting

Verify that your recorder or switch provides a 100BASE-TX RJ-45 connection for this camera. Confirm the mounting surface suits an outdoor dome housing and that cable routing reaches the installation point. Ensure your recording system accepts a 5 MP stream at 30 fps.

Suits Fixed Outdoor Monitoring

This camera suits installers needing a 5 MP outdoor dome with a 4.3 to 8 mm varifocal lens for fixed-area coverage. Buyers requiring higher resolution, motorised pan-tilt-zoom, or wireless connectivity should look at other models.

Questions about this item

Does the 5.0 MP H4 dome camera ship with a wall-mount bracket or PoE injector, or must I source those separately?

The camera body includes the varifocal 4.3-8 mm lens and an RJ-45 port for 100BASE-TX connection; mounting hardware and a PoE injector or mid-span are not included and must be purchased separately.

How do I decide between the wide 4.3 mm and narrow 8 mm ends of the varifocal range for my site?

At 4.3 mm the lens gives a broad field of view suited to yards or parking bays; at 8 mm it narrows for longer identification distance — adjust the ring on site until the desired coverage matches the 5 MP sensor.

What does the 0.033 lux sensitivity mean for night-time footage on this outdoor dome?

At 0.033 lux the 1/2-inch sensor can produce usable colour images in very low ambient light; the electronic shutter range of 1/6 to 1/8000 s then balances motion blur and exposure for clear 30 fps recording.
