Avigilon 2MP Outdoor Dome Camera

This Avigilon dome camera delivers 2MP resolution through a 3-9mm varifocal lens for outdoor surveillance. The 1/3-inch sensor reaches 0.04 lux sensitivity and supports H.264 and Motion JPEG compression. Network connection uses 100BASE-TX with IPv4, HTTPS, RTSP and other standard protocols.

Suits fixed outdoor positions needing varifocal

Installers who need a surface-mount dome with a 3-9mm focal range for outdoor coverage will find this camera fits the requirement. Buyers who want motorised pan-tilt-zoom movement, built-in infrared illumination, or a different lens range should look at other models.

3-9mm varifocal lens sets the field of view

The adjustable 3 to 9mm focal length determines the viewing angle and magnification for the monitored area. Select this camera when the installation demands that specific varifocal range; a fixed or wider-range lens would not meet the same need.

Questions about this item

Does the Avigo 2.0C-H4A-DP1 come with a power supply and mounting hardware, or must those be purchased separately?

The camera is a surface-mount outdoor dome with an RJ-45 network port; power is delivered over the Ethernet cable when used with a PoE switch or injector, and the dome base includes the hardware needed for wall or ceiling mounting.

How do I decide between the 3 mm and 9 mm ends of the varifocal lens on this 2 MP model?

At 3 mm the lens gives a wide overview suited to yards or forecourts, while at 9 mm it narrows the view to capture detail on entrances or licence plates; adjust the focal length during installation to match the scene.

What does the 0.04 lux sensitivity mean for night-time recording on this camera?

At 0.04 lux the sensor produces a usable colour image in very low ambient light such as street-lit areas; in darker conditions the electronic shutter can slow to 1/6 s to gather more light, though fast motion may blur.
