Avigilon H5A 2MP Outdoor Dome Camera

The Avigilon H5A series dome camera delivers 2MP resolution with a 3.3 to 9 mm varifocal lens for adjustable field of view. It is built for outdoor installation using a pendant mount and connects via 100BASE-TX Ethernet with an RJ45 connector. H.264 and H.265 HDSM SmartCodec compression plus Motion JPEG support efficient bandwidth use.

Suited for pendant-mount outdoor surveillance

This unit fits projects that require a varifocal outdoor dome with pendant mounting and 100 Mbps wired networking. Buyers who need higher than 2MP resolution, motorised optical zoom, or fibre connectivity should consider other models. The 1/3 inch sensor and supplied compression formats cover standard recording and remote viewing needs.

Varifocal 3.3 to 9 mm lens sets coverage

The adjustable focal range is the specification that determines the viewing angle and magnification for the scene. Select this camera when the installation demands flexible framing between wide and narrow perspectives at 2MP resolution.

Questions about this item

What network switch or recorder port does the camera's 100BASE-TX RJ45 connector plug into?

It connects to any 100BASE-TX or faster Ethernet port on a PoE switch or NVR using standard CAT5e cabling.

Will the H.264 and H.265 HDSM SmartCodec streams work with an older NVR that only supports basic H.264?

Yes, the camera also outputs Motion JPEG, so a legacy recorder can still record video, though without the bandwidth savings of SmartCodec.

How can I confirm the 2MP sensor and 3.3-9mm lens are delivering the expected field of view after mounting?

Log into the camera web interface or NVR client, view the live image, and verify the resolution reads 2MP while adjusting the varifocal lens to frame the scene.
