16-Port KVM for Multi-Server Management

This Avocent digital KVM switch provides centralized control of up to 16 connected computers from a single keyboard, video and mouse console. It is built for server-room administrators who need to manage multiple rack-mounted systems without moving between them. The rack-mountable form factor fits standard equipment cabinets.

Video Resolution and Network Limits

The switch supports a maximum video resolution of 1280x1024 across VGA, DVI-I, DisplayPort and HDMI connections. Network management is handled through two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports for remote access and control. These interfaces define the practical display clarity and administrative bandwidth available.

Sixteen Computer Ports Decide Fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 16 computer connection ports. Buyers who need to control more than 16 servers from one console cannot use this unit. Administrators requiring higher display resolutions than 1280x1024 will also find this model insufficient.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 16-port model or a smaller KVM for my rack?

This unit provides 16 computer connections in a rack-mountable form factor; select it when you need to manage that many servers from one console.

What does the 1280x1024 maximum resolution mean for my monitors?

The switch passes video up to 1280x1024 over VGA, DVI-I, DisplayPort or HDMI; higher-resolution displays will be limited to that ceiling.

How fast is the dual Ethernet link for remote access?

Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports give up to 1000 Mbps each for IP-based KVM sessions and management traffic.
